SeedMC Mobile App Privacy Policy

Effective date: Jan 01, 2026
Last updated: Apr 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how SeedMC (“SeedMC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the SeedMC Field Tracker mobile application (the “App”), available on Apple App Store and Google Play.

If you use our website (https://seedmc.com) or other services, additional terms may apply. When this Policy conflicts with an in-app notice or a signed agreement (such as an enterprise contract), that notice or agreement controls to the extent allowed by law.

1. Who we are

Operator: SeedMC LLC
Contact email: [email protected]

2. Scope

This Policy applies to personal information processed through the App. It does not cover third-party websites, apps, or services that we do not control (for example, map providers or device operating system features).

3. Information we collect

We collect information in the following ways:

3.1 Information you provide

  • Account and profile information you submit when registering or using the App (for example, name, email address, phone number, organization, username, password or authentication credentials).
  • Content you submit through the App (for example, records, notes, attachments, forms, images, or other inputs required for field tracking workflows).
  • Communications you send to us (support requests, feedback).

3.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device and technical information, such as device type, operating system version, app version, language, network connection type, and diagnostics identifiers necessary to operate the App.
  • Usage information, such as feature usage, timestamps, crash logs, and performance data to maintain reliability and security.
  • Approximate or precise location, when you grant permission (see Section 6). Location may be derived from GPS, Wi‑Fi, cellular signals, or sensors depending on your device settings.

3.3 Information stored locally on your device

The App may store certain data locally on your device (for example, offline records or cached content) to support functionality when connectivity is limited. Data stored locally remains on your device unless it is transmitted to our servers according to your use of the App.

4. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the App and related services.
  • Authenticate users and protect accounts.
  • Deliver core features (including location-based features when enabled).
  • Sync data between your device and our backend systems when you use online features.
  • Provide customer support and respond to requests.
  • Monitor and improve reliability, performance, and security (including troubleshooting crashes).
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our terms.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

5. Legal bases (EEA/UK/Switzerland users)

Where required by applicable law, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract (providing the App and services you request).
  • Legitimate interests (security, reliability, improving the product), where not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent (where we ask for optional processing or optional permissions).
  • Legal obligation (where processing is necessary to comply with law).

6. Permissions

The App may request permissions offered by your mobile operating system. You can typically grant or revoke permissions through your device settings. Depending on your configuration, permissions may include:

  • Location (precise and/or approximate): used to support field tracking and mapping features when you enable them.
  • Camera / Photos / Files: used if you capture or attach images or documents where the App supports those features.
  • Notifications: used if you enable alerts about updates or operational messages (if offered).

If you deny certain permissions, some features may be unavailable.

7. Sharing of information

We may share information in these circumstances:

7.1 Service providers

We may share information with vendors who help us operate the App and infrastructure, such as hosting providers, authentication services, cloud storage, mapping or geolocation services, analytics/crash reporting providers, email delivery, and customer support tools. Service providers are permitted to use information only as instructed by us.

7.2 Affiliates and professional advisors

We may share information with affiliates or advisors (legal, accounting) where necessary and subject to confidentiality obligations.

7.3 Legal and safety

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of SeedMC, our users, or the public.

7.4 Business transfers

If we engage in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.

7.5 With your direction

We may share information when you ask us to (for example, exporting data to an employer-designated system, if applicable).

We do not sell personal information as commonly defined by U.S. state privacy laws.

8. Third-party services and SDKs

The App may integrate third-party services (for example, mapping, authentication, analytics, crash reporting). Those providers process information under their own policies.

You should list the actual SDKs/services you use. Examples of categories (replace with your actual vendors):

If you are unsure, your engineering team can generate a dependency/SDK inventory from your mobile build.

9. International transfers

If you access the App from outside the United States of America, your information may be processed in any countries where GCP operates. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses).

10. Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the App, fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Retention periods may depend on:

  • whether you maintain an active account;
  • legal requirements for recordkeeping;
  • the need to retain backups for security and disaster recovery.

Local data stored only on your device remains until you delete the App or remove data within the App, subject to device controls.

11. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as:

  • Access, correction, or deletion
  • Restriction or objection to certain processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdrawal of consent (where processing is consent-based)

To exercise rights, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your request.

If you are in the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA (including rights to know, delete, and correct, and to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information).

13. Children

The App is not directed to children under [13 / 16 – choose based on your policy and law]. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy in the App or on our website and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice as required by law (for example, in-app notice or email).
